Attention of our students who will register for our university

Dear Student,

Welcome to our university. We congratulate you for choosing our university for your higher education and wish you continued success.

Students who have the right to register at our university according to the 2026 YKS placement results can register electronically with their e-Government passwords or, if they wish, can come to our university to complete their registration in person.

REGISTRATION DATES

- Electronic Registrations: Registrations will be made by logging in to www.turkiye.gov.tr with e-Government passwords between August 24-26, 2026, from the Higher Education Council Presidency section.

- In-Person Registrations: They will be able to complete their registrations in person by coming to our university between August 24-28, 2026.

No documents will be requested from our students who complete their registration via e-Government. Our students do not need to apply to our university additionally.

* Candidates who do not register between the specified dates cannot claim any rights. Candidates who do not complete their registration processes on the relevant dates will lose their registration rights.

On the day following the registration process, you can log in to the Student Information System (OBS) at net.mehmetakif.edu.tr/welcome with your e-Government password. You can obtain a Student Document via e-Government.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR IN-PERSON REGISTRATION

The original of the T.C. Identity card (The candidate must have it with them.) 

The original diploma obtained from the secondary education institution the candidate graduated from or the e-government graduation document.

IN-PERSON REGISTRATION INFORMATION

•  - Candidates must apply in person for registration. Registration cannot be done by mail.
•  - Unapproved copies or photocopies of the documents requested for registration are not accepted.
•  - If the documents are incomplete, registration will not be made.
•  - Candidates who do not register between the specified dates cannot claim any rights.
•  

Higher education institutions may request a health board report from candidates who will register if it is stated in the conditions and explanations of the program. If it is not mentioned in the conditions and explanations of the program, a health board report cannot be requested.

Universities are authorized to take necessary legal actions against candidates who register by making false statements. 

Since you cannot be registered in two associate or two bachelor's programs simultaneously, candidates in this situation must terminate their enrollment in the program they are registered in to register for the program they have won. 

Candidates who register for programs with a compulsory foreign language (English) preparatory class must follow the announcements on the website of our university's Foreign Languages School regarding the Foreign Language Proficiency Exam and the Foreign Language Exemption Exam at https://ydyo.mehmetakif.edu.tr/.

Candidates who have gained the right to register for a higher education program but are at the graduation stage in secondary education institutions, associate degree programs, or bachelor's programs and will take an internship, make-up, or single course exam will also have their temporary registrations made at higher education institutions on the specified dates. If these candidates submit their documents proving their graduation to the higher education institution by December 31, 2026, and candidates placed in a higher education institution from Open Education High Schools submit their graduation documents by January 29, 2027, their main registrations will be made. Those who do not document their graduation by this date will have their temporary registrations canceled, and candidates in this situation who do not register temporarily on the specified dates will not be registered.

COURSE REGISTRATION PROCESSES

From September 4-8, 2026, students must select courses and complete registration through the OBS system.

MILITARY STATUS

To be applied for candidates who fit one of the following paragraphs;

 a) Those who have lost the right to postpone their military service according to the provisions of the Military Service Law No. 7179 and the principle orders published by the Ministry of National Defense regarding this matter,

 b) Those who have completed a two or three-year higher education program and wish to enter another higher education program of less than four years without having completed their military service (Candidates who have graduated from a two or three-year higher education program and have not completed their military service can apply for the 2025-YKS to enter a four-year or longer higher education program.),

 c) Those who have completed a higher education program of four years or more and have not completed their military service,

 If these candidates are placed in any higher education program as a result of the 2026-YKS, their registrations will be made. However, if the military service of candidates in this situation has been postponed, they will be able to continue their education in the program they have gained the right to register until the end of their military postponement period, and if the postponement period expires, they will lose their right to postpone military service, and the registrations of candidates in this situation will be frozen, and they will be able to continue their education after completing their military service.

EXEMPTION and ADJUSTMENT 

Our students who have previously attended university will apply online through the Student Information System for exemption and adjustment processes for the courses they have taken.
