The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and the Directorate General of Migration Management of the Ministry of Interior signed the “Cooperation Protocol Regarding the Residence Permit Applications of International Students” on November 15, 2023, aimed at updating the visa and residence permit procedures and processes for international students. Within the framework of the protocol, it has been notified that students who were registered before the effective date of the protocol (November 29, 2023) and whose education process was interrupted due to residence violations despite their student status continuing, must apply for a visa/residence permit by 31.01.2024 .
